Photographic Series
In this photographic series I wanted to capture and visually record the realities of our consumption based society but in a more playful and interesting way than merely using a documentation or ethnographic style. I wanted to bring out the bright colors and assortment involved in each collection, as well as allowing the viewer to see the individuals who possess each collection. This allows the viewer the ability to see the person behind the collection and delve into meanings, associations, and cultures. I wanted to fill the frame with each individual’s collection in order to portray, not only the large amount of stuff the sitter is consuming, but also the large amount of space the collection is consuming.
